Despite what you might have been taught by science fiction artificial gravity is actually an easy matter in space. There are a lot of fine points, but the general idea is to spin just right. It’s a wonder that this has never been put to good use. It’s been known for a lot longer than people have been going into space. The fine points are well known also. There’s not much up for new discovery when it comes to creating artificial gravity in space. On ground we can simulate gravity from 1-G (earth norm) and up. However, in space we can simulate from zero and up. There is no negative gravity yet. Click the image for a larger version.
